Police have launched a murder investigation following a collision on the A303 on Friday afternoon (21/06/19).

At approximately 4.50pm on Friday a car was in collision with a man on the A303 Eastbound near Solstice Park.

The vehicle involved failed to stop.

Sadly, the injured man (aged 63), who was taken to hospital by air ambulance, died in the early hours of this morning (23/06/19) – our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

Following the investigations, a 23-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody at Gablecross Police Station in Swindon.

Det Supt Julie Mackay who is leading the investigation said: “We would like to speak anyone who may have seen this collision on Friday.
“This is a very busy road and I believe there would have been a number of drivers and road users who would have seen this incident.
“Also, if you have any dash-cam footage of this please come forward.”
