Wiltshire Police are looking for anyone who was in Melksham this morning after a driver failed to stop.
Between 6.00am and 7.00am, a 41-year-old man was driving his Skoda Rapid in Eastern Way, Melksham close to the Water Meadow pub, when a vehicle drove into the back of his car says Police.
When the victim got out of his Skoda, he was then struck by the offending driver’s vehicle, which quickly fled the scene.
The victim wasn’t in serious condition and sustained an arm injury, he was seen to by paramedics.
Under further investigation, a 60-year-old man was arrested later this morning on suspicion of dangerous driving, GBH with intent, failing to stop and failing to report a road collision.
The man is in custody in Melksham, for further questioning and the vehicle has been recovered for further enquiries.
PC Vicki Pegrum said: “I’d like to urge motorists who were in this area of Melksham this morning to please check their dash cams – you may have footage which could help our enquiries.”
